Rare 1916 action photograph from the fourth game of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the Brooklyn Dodgers. The game took place on October 11, 1916 at Ebbets Field and shows star outfielder Larry Gardner scoring after belting a two-run homer off Hall of Famer Rube Marquard. A cool image from one of the last Red Sox championships before their huge dry spell that lasted until 2004! Issued by the International News and stamped on the back. The batboy in his Red Sox sweater is a really cool touch!
