On July 19, 1909 infielder Neal Ball from the Cleveland Indians turned one of the rarest feats in baseball history, an unassisted triple play against the Boston Red Sox. A seemingly innocent image at first glance, this photograph was posed the next day by Cleveland photographer Louis Van Oeyen and captures Ball with the three men he got out (Henie Wagner, Jake Stahl and Amby McConnell) but in this image he cropped out McConnell for some reason. Stamped on the back by Van Oeyen, this is the only vintage example of this photograph we have ever seen in any form!
