Important 1940's portrait photograph of Negro league superstar Howard Easterling in uniform with the New York Star. This is his finest image we have ever seen and a completely unique new discovery that is being offered here for the first time ever. Mounted to a thick piece of paper by a newspaper archive, Easterling was a 4x All Star and a mainstay of the Homestead Grays teams of the WWII era. The photo is in nice shape and aside from some painting in the background from publication, it is almost perfect!
