Unique c. 1921 photograph of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb as he met on the field with new baseball commissioner Judge Kennesaw Mountain Landis. At the time this photo was taken, the pleasantries were cordial it appears. Soon, these two men would be bitter enemies including a spell where Landis banned Cobb from the game. While not dated, the image clearly shows Cobb in Tigers uniform and judging by the friendliness of the conversation, this would have to be from early in Landis' career as top man in baseball. A unique new discovery that is one of the only images of the two men together, it might be the only one where the two men were on friendly terms!
