1949 Photograph of baseball pioneer and Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson as he spoke before the House Un-American Activities Committee on blacks and their unequal treatment. A touching and important photo of Robinson that shows his commitment to the cause of civil rights started well before the movement gained steam throughout the 1950's, this is one of only a handful of examples of Robinson testifying before Congress we have ever seen. Issued by the Associated Press and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well. Condition and quality make this almost perfect.
