Sherry Magee was one of the top sluggers in the National League and is one of the most underrated by todays standards. Largely forgotten, he collected over 2000 hits in the deadball era, played great defense, and even won a batting title with Philadelphia in 1910. A unique and large batting action photograph from the archive of NEA, this is stamped on the back from 1918 and represents one of only a handful of original Magee images we have ever seen. Offered here for the first time ever, the photo presents well with note to two small rips on the right edge from news-room handling.
