After he left New York for the Boston Braves in 1934, Babe Ruth felt slighted. He wanted to become manager of the Yankees and was never given the opportunity he felt he deserved. As such, he rarely attended ballgames in New York until the dust settled. Mayor LaGuardia reached out to him and made amends of sorts, prompting Ruth to return and take center stage at Yankee Stadium once again. Here Ruth is pictured at the World Series with the famous mayor and taking a moment to strike a familiar batting pose. Issued by Brown Brothers and stamped on the back with a nice paper caption as well.
