1931 Rare foreign news service photograph of Mahatma Gandhi from relatively early in his reign as the top spiritual leader of India. Stamped on the back from London, Gandhi was in the country to meet with the Prime Minister. It was mostly a PR move for England, but it helped solidify Gandhi's stature among his followers and has gone down as an important moment in his life. The photo is encapsulated by PSA as a Type 1 which is VERY rare as most of the original photographs of Gandhi were send back to the United States by wire with very few (most coming from foreign news services) actually sent from the original photographer via mail back to the country. Issued by Acme and in nice shape overall with a small corner chip being the only real flaw.
