1923 Sweeping horizontal photograph of Hall of Famer Babe Ruth from the New York Yankees as he crosses home plate after belting a home run in the World Series against the New York Giants. An important piece of photography as it was taken during the first ever Yankees title. Ruth is being met by hunchback batboy Eddie Bennett who is offering his congratulations to the great "Bambino" on his massive clout. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a paper caption, this is one of the most historically significant images of Ruth we have handled. The homer took place in the first inning of the last series game, helping his club win the World Series for the first time ever! Condition and quality are both outstanding and the photo comes with a full letter from PSA (Type 1) which is a nice touch to cement the authenticity. For the collector who wants the best!
