Dramatic 1934 photograph of a small blond boy wearing what looks like a boy scout uniform but clearly one of "Hitler's Youth" as he is sporting a lightning bolt symbolic of the German SS. While the image immediately evokes feelings of brainwashing and a cult like status, it was typical during the era, but not in New Jersey! This rare photograph captures the boy in the United States and the paper caption on the back notes that he was being taught German and the first principles of Nazism at a camp!
