Impressive 1922 photograph of the starting pitchers for the Yankees (Bob Shawkey) and Giants (Jesse Barnes) as the duo shakes hands and poses for photographers before the start of their clash at the World Series. This was just the second trip ever to the Fall Classic for the Yankees and they would lose again before finally becoming successful the next season. A beautiful image that looks perfect but under close inspection there are some pinholes from editorial use at a newspaper.
