Lot Description  

1917 Rare photograph of the three leading sports writers at the World Series. Taken by photographer Charles Conlon and with his extensive handwritten notes on the back, the image captures Win Mercer, Spink of the Sporting News and G. Axelson of the Chicago Herald. Rarely were the sportswriters themselves the subjects of photographs and this is the only example of this image we have ever seen.
