Ernie Koob was a good pitcher, but not a likely candidate to no-hit the eventual World Series champion Chicago White Sox in 1917 when he wrote his name into the history books. The offered photograph was taken during his rookie season in 1915, two years before he pitched his way to fame. This is the only the second image of Ernie Koob we have ever offered in any form and despite some edge chipping, the image portion is strong! Issued by Underwood and Underwood and with a paper caption on the back, this originates from the archives of the Baseball Magazine.
