Incredible 1919 sweeping action photograph of the first game of the famous Black Sox World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. The house is packed in Cincinnati and an overflow crowd is seated right on the outfield grass. Eddie Cicotte has just delivered a pitch and a Cincinnati player is busting out of the box after connecting. This is a well known image that also carries the appropriate stamp on the back from Underwood and Underwood, and this is the only vintage example we have ever seen in any form. Despite being taken from a considerable distance, the image presents well and is pretty clear. We have designated this as a "vintage 1(b)" but it is entirely possible this is off the original negative. A famous image that has been reproduced countless times with this being the only documented 1919 example we know of in the hobby.
