Large c. 1949 photograph of four members of the New York Giants in uniform including the two who broke the color barrier on the team and helped make them a force in the National League, Monte Irvin and Hank Thompson. Both were stars in the Negro Leagues and were two of the better players to make the jump to the majors. Despite some pinholes at the corners, this is a beautiful image of an important time in baseball.
