Rare and significant photograph showing Joe DiMaggio returning to the dugout after hitting in his 44th consecutive game during "The Streak". We know today he would go on for another two weeks and hit in 56 consecutive games, but at the time this was the milestone he was reaching for, tying a nearly fifty year old record set by Wee Willie Keeler. He congratulated by teammates in the Yankee dugout with notes on the back focused almost as much around Joe Gordon (local Portland Oregon Boy) than DiMaggio. Condition is nice with a few minor corner wrinkles.
