1938 Sweeping horizonal photograph of Jewish owned businesses in berlin being identified with graffiti during the turbulent time in which anti-semitism was gaining immense popularity in Germany. We all know the horrible results of this "purge" today, but at the time it was being looked at as something that was tense but not yet violent. The paper caption on the back even notes that the graffiti was a "polite" way of telling people to shop elsewhere. A rare image from the International News and stamped on the back with a large paper caption as well.
