One of the better hitters in the American League during the 1920's that gets no love was William Lamar. He started his career with the Yankees (when this photo was taken) and then headed over to the Athletics where he helped build the team that would eventually win two consecutive World Series in 1929-30. He had a career .310 average and this is only the second image of him in uniform with the Yankees we have ever seen. Taken by photographer Charles Conlon and stamped on the back.
