Incredible foreshadowing photograph of the United States naval fleet during manuevers in the Pacific Ocean (probably close to Pearl Harbor). The title of the paper caption and language is an eerie reminder of the state of the world and just how big of a surprise it was when the Japanese struck on December 7, 1941 about two years after this photo was taken. The caption mentions that it was comforting to the hearts of 130,000,000 Americans to see such a massive force protecting our west. A breathtaking and cool piece of United States history with tragic undertones, issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption.
