1916 Silver gelatin photograph of early race car driver (as well as engineer and aviator) Josef Christiaens behind the wheel of his Sunbeam racer, likely at the Indy 50. Stamped on the back by George Grantham Bain and in nice shape, this si a crystal clear and bold work of early auto racing history. Christiaens died in 1916 in an auto crash and images of him are VERY rare!
