1920 Large photograph of a spring training hopeful named Martin Stolz in uniform with the Cubs and trying to make the club. Listed on the back as a southpaw pitcher, it is likely this player was one of hundreds of high level amateur players after WWI who tried out for major league teams but never played in organized minor league baseball either as things were not as structured 100 years ago. A research project as nobody by this name appears on any lists of professional players, this is a unique new discovery offered here for the first time ever!
