Large 1951 portrait photograph of Lorenzo "Chiquitin" Cabrera, former star of the Cuban and Negro Leagues who was following the lead of Jackie Robinson and trying to make his mark in integrated baseball. The offered image shows him in uniform with the Oakland Oaks of the PCL where he would only play in 20 games making this photo extremely rare. Almost certainly the only survivor on the planet, the quality of the image is nice with note to some creasing and handling wear from nearly seventy years of news-room use.
