Absolutely breathtaking April 16, 1928 photograph of the great Lou Gehrig crossing Home Plate after hitting his second Home Run of the Season (84th of his career) against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. This might be the best Lou Gehrig photo we have ever owned. The combination of the look on Lou's face, the Catcher standing there helpessly watching and Fenway Park as a backdrop all from the 1928 World Series year makes this hard to beat. The image has everything and the condition is good with a couple mild creases and some light crazing on the far left side. Reverse has a full paper caption and stamps from NEA and Acme. Note the NEA stamp is a file mark and although it is dated March 1929 from them, this is absolutely a April 16, 1928 image with full documention. Truly museum quality and easily one of the best Gehrig Home Run photos in the World.
