Lot Description  

1945 Official US Marine Corps photograph of the invasion of Iwo Jima by Marine photographer Robert R. Campbell. Purple caption on the back with release date of 1945 makes this a rare original in perfect clarity. Marines litter the beach as they crawl their way inches at a time up to Mt. Surabachi. Save the "Flag Raising" photo, this is one of the greatest Iwo photos out there adn this one is completely original to 1945!
