Lot Description  

Extremely early photograph of one of the greatest players of his era, Roy Campanella as he is pictured from 1942 with the Baltimore Elite Giants of the Negro League. One of the only images of its kind we have ever seen and it pictures Campanella a full 7 YEARS before his Rookie Baseball Card! The photo is clearly dated from 1942 on the back and Campy is wearing his Giants uniform (partially visible in the photo). An important new discovery from a tremendous player in nice shape overall.
