Unique 1939 photograph from the archives of the Baseball Magazine showing New York Yankees slugger Charlie Keller. His is THE photograph used to make his M114 premium photograph and is fresh out of the archives of Baseball Magazine and offered here for the first time since 1996. Stamped on the back and with the handwritten notes from Charles Conlon as well, this is the finest image of Charlie Keller ever issued. NOTE: Before this photograph was uncovered, the only versions of this exact Conlon stamp were deemed fake by a known fraudster, printed in blue and were all be fakes (stamp not the photographs themselves). This specimen has shed some light on this subject and in the ever-evolving photograph hobby, new knowledge is always welcome and we continue to seek this out. It is possible this stamp might be the original that was used to create the fake Conlon stamp, but can not be sure. We will continue to research this issue going forward, but we wanted the potential buyer to be aware of the stamp, its origins from Baseball Magazine, the fact that it has not entered the hands of the individual who created the fake stamps (direct chain of ownership) and is an original Conlon irrespective of the stamp on the back. Please take this information to heart when bidding and if the new buyer is not comfortable with it, we can remove it for them.
