The annals of baseball history are filled with storied of guys who barely made it and had a cup of coffee in the major leagues. For every one of those guys, there are a handful of Robert David's, guys who came so close to reaching their dreams only to never get the chance. Robert David, seen here in full Phillies uniform during spring training, was good enough to get a shot and get issued a uniform, but not quite good enough to break into the roster. As a result he was lost to history, until now. Here is visual proof this guy who played five games with Newark in 1921 at one time was a major leaguer! A unique new discovery offered here for the first time ever!
