Joe McCarthy would become the greatest manager in baseball history as the leader of the Yankees in the 1930's and 1940's, but before he took that direction in life, he was a player trying to stick in the big leagues. The offered 1916 photograph is one of the only images of McCarthy alone as a player and not part of a team photo. Despite the creasing and wear, the image remains strong and the youthful face is definitely that of the future Hall of Famer! A unique new discovery offered here for the first time ever and stamped with the date on the back!
