Original 1944 photograph of John Wayne entertaining troops aboard a battleship in WWII. Wayne is posing with one of the soldiers he was performing for, this is a fantastic image in great shape that has never been published! Images of Wayne during WWII are rare as he was looked at as a draft dodger and the subject was a sore spot for him. Note on the back clearly identifies the actor in the hand of the soldier whose scrapbook this was pulled from! Dated Feb 1944 aboard the USS Blue Ridge. Scrapbook paper still adhered to the reverse can be removed easily.
