The 1919 World Series remains as famous today for the scandal that evolved out of it's ashes as it was 100 years ago! Forgotten among all the stories of the Black Sox gamblers is that the Cincinnati Reds were really good. Here one of their star pitchers, Slim Sallee warms up at the ballpark and it is actually dated on the back from October 1919, the date of the actual World Series! A fantastic image that is almost certainly unique, the photo is actually quite clear with just some blur from Sallee's violent pitching motion speed!
