Incredible large 1912 photograph of the mascots and batboys of the New York Giants (and possibly the Red Sox) before the start of game number five of the World Series at Fenway Park in Boston. At left is famous mascot and batboy Dick Hennessey of the Giants in full uniform and bent over next to another mascot, a goat all dressed up. This is the only example of this photograph known and it is quite a piece of vintage photography. The quality of the image is fantastic and despite some light chipping at the corners, it presents well especially for the size. One of the largest baseball images from the era we have seen issued by a News Service and the subject matter is absolutely fantastic! Stamped on the back by the International News Service (their earliest stamp we have ever seen) and dated 1912 cementing the vintage of the specimen. It is mounted o thicker board on the one side still (original) but we have been able to peel it back almost completely to observe the stamp making this available to be sent to PSA and get authenticated unlike other mounted photos if the buyer chooses!
