1939 Photograph of Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig who had recently been diagnosed with ALS as he travelled with his wife and the rest of his Yankees teammates as they returned home victorious in the World Series. A touching image as this would be one of the last public appearances of Gehrig who would soon retire from the public eye to fight his disease. Issued by Acme and remaining here in great condition!
