There are few events or images that have resonated throughout time like the Hindenburg as it burst into flames over Lakehurst, New Jersey. The photo has been seen a billion times and the broadcast of a journalist crying and yelling "oh the humanity" has been heard a billion more! Original items relating to the disaster however are quite rare, which makes this offered photo all the more spectacular. An incredible vintage 1937 original photograph of the Hindenburg from the moment it burst into flames and into the history books forever, this is the most important piece of photography from the event. While examples of this photo are sometimes seen in re-strike or a more modern form, this is an original vintage example from the International News and stamped on the back with a newspaper paper caption as well. Condition is beautiful with not to it being trimmed a bit for publication in 1937 and with clarity so precise that the individual embers of the explosion can be seen with the naked eye.
