There are sports photos and then there are images that jump out to you as special; this is one of the finest examples of the latter we have ever seen. The image was taken in the fourth round of the fight between leading contender Joey Giardello and Walter Cartier in Madison Square Garden. Taken by photographer Frank mastro, the image captures Cartier as he hit the deck for the last time, but was done with such artistry that this could be hanging in a museum or gallery. An absolute work of sports photo art!
