Lot Description  

The best pitcher in baseball during the 1917 season was obscure Ferdie Schupp of the New York Giants. Barely a starter before his breakout season, he would go 21-7 and lead the league with a 1.95 ERA. Overworked, he would come back down to earth in 1918 making him one of the greatest one year wonders in all of baseball. This is a large action photo in pretty nice shape that is being offered here for the first time after he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals. A unique image which is stamped on the back by NEA and offered here for the first time ever.
