c. 1904 John McGraw Silver Gelatin studio photograph as Manager of the New York Giants. The Silver Gelatin photo paper and style are correct for the date and McGraw is very young in the image. At this time he was still playing a bit and had not yet made the complete transformation to being a manager, making this one of only a handful known of McGraw as a player! Despite being peeled off the cabinet backing for easier news room storage and use, this is a nearly perfect example and still has some of the cabinet backing on the reverse. All things considered, this is one of the finer image of John McGraw that exists!
