Incredible 1934 large photograph of the major league all stars and their Japanese opponents on this day before a game during the famous World Tour that helped spread the game to the Orient. Led by babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, the games were a massive success and the tour is one of the most important in the history of baseball. this is one of the only images of both teams that exists in vintage form and it is a Hall of Fame worthy relic from the history of the game. A huge crowd provides the perfect backdrop for the teams with the scoreboard in the center along with Babe Ruth pictured prominently next to Connie Mack. This is an oversized photograph in nice shape, directly from the scrapbook of one of the players on the tour and with a bit of paper still adhered to the reverse. The age of the photo is absolutely secured, but there is some speculation about how the photo was made. The image has a bit of graininess to it, but there is no evidence at all of this being off a duplicate negative. We believe and it is the belief of some others we have shown this image to, that the photo is a Vintage 1 that was shot using a more primitive camera from the era and then blown up resulting in some clarity loss but it still is off the original negative that took the photograph! A rare image from the most important baseball tour of all time.
