In 1957 before the start of the season, Cleveland Browns rookie Jim Brown posed for a short series of photographs for photographer Henry Barr at the Browns training facility. Originally planned for publicity photographs only, one of his shots was selected by Topps to make his 1958 rookie card. While this is one of the other shots, we feel it is superior as it was almost a way of Brown, a civil rights activist, to stick his middle finger at the football world by striking the Heisman pose despite being snubbed for the award due to the color of his skin. A nearly perfect specimen that is already slabbed by PSA with one of their older and far more attractive holders. One of only a handful of original 8X10 photos from this shoot that have ever been offered for sale, and this is the sole "Heisman Pose" we have ever seen!
