Large and absolutely incredible art photograph of the pitching grip of Eddie Cicotte from the Chicago White Sox. Detailed and bold, this photo highlights the knuckleball that Cicotte helped pioneer and showing the ball and his grip to such a crazy detail that the fingernail dirt from a lifetime on the diamond can be easily seen! The photo is the work of famous photographer Charles Conlon who was also one of the first to take images like this highlighting the artistic nuances of the game such as batting grips, pitching arms and eyes! Conlon's handwriting is evident on the reverse of this photo and despite some handling wear and pinholes from publication, the image is clear and bold. This is the only known example of this image showing Cicotte's pitching grip we have ever handled and it is a work of baseball art that could be hanging in a museum or gallery!
