When Art Shires Burt onto the scene in 1928 with the White Sox, he did so in a big way, to the tune of a .341 batting average. It is no wonder then that when photographer Louis van Oeyen had a chance to snap some of the White Sox the next year, Shires was one of the ones he focused his lens on. A bold image with a stamp on the back from the famous photographer, this has some creasing and handling wear but is the only known example!
