When Joe McCarthy took over the Chicago Cubs in 1926, much was expected of the young manager, but he blew those out of the water and quickly established himself as the best in the game. Here he talks with his boss, owner Bill Veeck at the ballpark before the start of his third season with the team. He would take them all the way to the World Series in 1929 before jumping ship to the Yankees. A fantastic large example from Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well. The photo presents really well with note to some light wear at the extreme edges from handling use.
