Ralph Kiner probably packed more accomplishments into a short career than any other ballplayer of the 20th century. In only ten full seasons he led the league in home runs seven times, a staggering number when you consider that he was only 33 years old when he retired from the game. He was traded during the 1953 season to the Chicago Cubs who had to feel at the time that he had many more seasons left in the game. As it would pan out he was almost done, making images of him in uniform with the Cubs quite rare. This is a large batting photo of Kiner from that 1953 season which looks great and represents one of the only photographs of Kiner in a Cubs uniform we have seen. The offered photograph in nearly perfect and it is stamped on the back by famous photographer William C. Greene.
