In 1916, three years before he became the Heavyweight Champion of the World, Jack Dempsey fought John Lester Johnson in what was the first mixed race boxing match since a ban was lifted. Here in 1926, Dempsey was the champ but he was reunited with the man he fought ten years earlier. While Dempsey images are not tough to find, this is the ONLY one pictures with Johnson we know of. Despite condition issues, this is an important boxing photograph offered here for the first time ever.
