1972 Batting photo of Hall of Famer Willie Mays in what was essentially his last effective season in baseball. This image was taken by local bay area photographer Russ Reed who must have known that his chances to photograph the greatest player of his era were coming to an end. The offered photo shows Mays in the batters box and ready for one more chance to hang onto the game he loved. Condition and quality are both outstanding.
