On July 12, 1943 Babe Ruth was ushered down into the visiting dugout at Yankee Stadium where he met and shook hands with the kid who was the greatest slugger in baseball since he himself stood in the batters box. Ted Williams was a phenom and Ruth, still vibrant and full of life, stood in full uniform and greeted the youngster. Williams was thrilled and Ruth looked to be excited about the moment himself. There are few original examples of this photograph that have survived, but this one is extra special as it carries the tape glue remnants from being in Ted Williams' personal scrapbook!
