One of the most iconic football cards of the 20th century and arguably the most important of the era is the 1966 Philadelphia Gum Company rookie card of Bears star Gale Sayers. A card that transcends the sport, the pose was bold for the time as Sayers strikes the classic Heisman pose for the camera. Issued by the Chicago Bears team, these were blank backed and sent to newspapers and magazines. This particular example is one of only TWO we have seen (of the four examples total) that is dated on the back from 1965 and in essentially perfect condition. One of the most important football photos of the postwar era, this is the finest example that exists in the world with concrete dating to before the card was issued and it comes slabbed by PSA already as a "Type 1" for added piece of mind!
