1915 Large portrait photograph in uniform of rookie from the St. Louis Browns, George Sisler. Posing as a fresh faced youngster, Sisler had just completed his last season at the University of Michigan and was hoping that his college success would translate to the big leagues. This is a work of photographic art from Paul Thompson and while the image has the stamps obscured on the back, it is a known Thompson image and it comes with a full LOA from PSA stating it is the work of Thompson! A full 8X10, this is a typical size and format of Thompson from the era and this is the superior example of the exactly THREE known copies of this image, displaying with perfect clarity and exceptional contrast. The best image of Sisler that exists and despite some corner chipping it presents well.
