Had you been around the game of golf in Boston in 1912 a few names would have popped up as the leading young stars from the area, Ralph Thomas and Francis Ouimet. Both were friends and about the same age, played on the same courses and ran in the same circle of friends. The general consensus would have been though that Thomas was better! The offered embossed studio photograph is from the estate of Ralph Thomas and captures the cocky young star early in his career when he was winning titles around New England as one of the best amateurs in the game. He would turn to golf as a professional and is still a big name in his hometown. The quality of the image from the famed White Studios of Boston is outstanding with note to pinholes at the top and bottom of the photo.
