Incredible 1954 photograph of pitcher Bob Kline from the Milwaukee Braves pitching in uniform. While ordinarily this would be nothing special, this photo is something else when taken in context of the technological advancement it represents. This image was taken with a 1/100,000 second stroboscopic light that captures even the fastest action photo in crystal clear statue-like form. The photo shows the ball a fraction of a second after it left the hand of the pitcher and s one of the first instances of this type of freeze-frame photography being used on a baseball player. Issued through Acme and taken by Frank Scherschel of the Milwaukee Journal, this is the only example we know of.
