One of the defining moments of the Civil Rights movement took place in 1966 when leader James Meredith was shot during a peaceful demonstration. The images of him wounded and crawling to safety are some of the most enduring in American history with this being a completely original specimen in fine condition with a couple of men finally providing some assistance to him. This particular angle showing Meredith laying and waiting for help is one we have seen before but it has always been cropped with this being the only full version we have ever seen.
